I read an article about the Lindsay Clancy case that raises a serious question far beyond one courtroom: What happens when compassion for someone’s suffering turns into an excuse for the taking of innocent human life?

Three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, are dead. The court must examine all the evidence and determine Lindsay Clancy’s legal responsibility. We should not pretend to know facts the court has not yet established. But we also must not join anyone in minimizing, celebrating, or rationalizing the deaths of innocent children. Grief, mental suffering, and even serious questions about medications deserve careful consideration, but none of them make the children less valuable before God.

The article points to a disturbing response online, where some have used “Me too, Lindsay” language as though identifying with a mother’s struggles somehow makes what happened understandable or acceptable. That is where compassion becomes corrupted. We can acknowledge suffering without calling evil good. Isaiah warned, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil” ~Isaiah 5:20.

Scripture is clear that human life belongs to God. “Thou shalt not kill” ~Exodus 20:13. Jesus called Satan “a murderer from the beginning” and “a liar, and the father of it” ~John 8:44. Whenever a culture starts making excuses for the destruction of innocent life, whether in the womb, in a home, or anywhere else, it has departed from God’s standard.

This does not mean Christians should be cruel, mock the mentally troubled, or presume to pronounce the final judgment of a person’s soul. God alone knows the heart and will judge righteously. But it does mean we must speak plainly: innocent children are not burdens to be discarded, and no public cause should turn their deaths into a slogan.

This is the article: A Murderer From The Beginning: Rationalizing The Taking Of Human Life Is No Longer Fringe

Where do you see the line between genuine compassion for a struggling person and using compassion to excuse what God calls evil?

your dealing with the court of law . a honest answer to your ? would be true compassion does not = evil .

i have no doubt this woman knew what she was doing. but if hse didnt who then let her be with the children alone ? someone is responsible . either or whoever allowed her to be with the Children.. a physc case like this does not pop up over night and if she had take meds to control it. the she should have been allowed to have the kids. our law in laymen terms are STUPID .our nation is heading for great fall

I agree with you. I watched the entire trial, and from everything I saw, she certainly seemed to know what she was doing. What bothers me is how easily people today seem to think that if someone has a good enough excuse, somehow that should lessen or even erase responsibility for something as serious as murder. Whatever struggles she may have been dealing with, there are still three children who lost their lives.

Those children looked to their mother for love, protection, and care. That is what makes this especially hard for me to get past. What a terrible betrayal of the very ones who trusted her the most. And as you said, there are also legitimate questions about whether others saw warning signs and whether more could have been done beforehand. But what was shown in court she had more help given to her than most people, but she did not take their advice. I'm sure she can be forgiven if she repents and gives her life to Jesus, but she should still be punished for the murders.

“He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.” ~Proverbs 17:15

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness...” ~Isaiah 5:20

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” ~Ezekiel 18:20

“Thou shalt not kill.” ~Exodus 20:13

“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith...” ~1 Timothy 5:8

“For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil... for he beareth not the sword in vain.” ~Romans 13:3–4

I highly suspect that the "it just seems weird" legal precedent set by Candace Owens in the minds of her army of "silly women" (2 Tim 3:6) who, because of they have not been "saved in childbearing" (1 Tim 2:15), have now been "led away with divers lusts" (2 Tim 3:6), and, because they have way too much time on their hands, are now busy "researching" and "investigating" these cases, but are actually "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Tim 3:7)
Thus because of this modern deception, the women of America now are incapable of knowing right from wrong, truth from lies, and are now standing outside a courthouse defending a woman who clearly murdered her own children.
These women are "Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:" (Romans 1:31).
I even had one women suggest to me that it was actually a clone of Lindsay Clancy that killed her children, and she was framed.
😵

Unless men stand up and decide to be on the Lord's side (2 Kings 9:32, Joshua 24:14), and decide to rebuke this Jezebel heresy of our day, and to "throw her down" (2 Kings 9:33), then we will not have peace in our day.
The utter insanity of the Lindsay Clancy case is a spiritual deception that is causing legal issues. Just like Satan deceived Eve in the garden to disobey the Lord, Satan is deceiving women today to forsake law and order....because it just "seems weird" and doesn't "feel right"...
We dealt with this years ago in our film Third Adam 3: Rise of the Divine Feminine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f8fotz5GUo&t=1328s

Remember: if you count abortions as murder, then 1 in 4 American woman are murderers, and about 1 out of 10 women are serial killers.

Good morning, everyone;

Judge declares mistrial in Lindsey Clancy case!!!!

Does the Bible allow a parent to murder their children because of an extreme mental breakdown and taking medication declaring it justified in the eyes of God?

No, an extreme mental breakdown is never a legal excuse or justification for killing a child, but severe mental illness can change how the legal system treats the parent. God views the intentional taking of innocent human life as a severe sin.

Exodus 20:13, 13 Thou shalt not kill. - KJV

Psalm 127:3, 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. - NKJV

When t
he defense lawyer took the bar, did he allow it to replace his moral conscious? It's amazing how the women in the pink shirts are justifying their "world view and reason," taking precedence over the ultimate Word of God.

We can't pray for the murdered children but we can ask God to embrace them as an expression of our love, grief, and trust in His ultimate mercy.

I'm very disappointed this morning.

the lawyer is defending his client she said she was not guilty .if the prosecuting attorney was no longer in office . he would do the same thing. i am by far a fan of lawyers but this day and age you have to use them for any legal process. . if i were to guess it cost just ten grand to hire him i figure he is getting close to hundred grand it being jury trial murder case. a poor man has no chance in law suits they get at least %30 . our court system is a joke ..yes there is no morals

I just finished this documentary on the Constance Fisher case and why I believe it matters in the Lindsay Clancy case. In 1954, Fisher killed three of her children. She was later released. Years later, three more of her children were dead. That history should make people think very seriously about the difference between treatment, improvement, and public safety.

The Lindsay Clancy trial has now ended in a mistrial, but the larger question has not gone away.

How much risk should society ever be expected to take when innocent lives are at stake?

Watch the video and tell me what you think.

I agree. The killing of those three children is not justified by mental illness, medication, or any other excuse. Compassion for suffering must never become permission to call evil good. I also believe those children are with the Lord. Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). Their lives mattered, and their deaths deserve truth and justice.

I agree. A defense lawyer’s job is to defend his client, and the prosecution’s job is to prove the charges. The lawyer is not the one who decides guilt or innocence. The real issue is whether a jury and court will hold someone accountable when three innocent children have been killed. Money, publicity, and competing opinions should not replace truth and justice.

It's really sad how society wants to blame everyone except the people who commit the crime. People will blame the medication, the doctors, the husband, the legal system, or society itself, but refuse to face the person who committed the crime. Those things may need to be examined, but they do not erase personal responsibility.

It's really sad
we are seeing Bible prophecy come alive before our very eyes ..paul wrote the mystery of iniquity . he seen it in his time and its increasing more . if you listen to everyone nobody is saying this world will get better. she is on a dead in course to be burnt with fire,, after the church is out of here.. God will send strong delusions that they will belive a lie and be damned . the spirit of the antichrist is alive moving . not to sure he aint alive just not know who he is

What is known about this "mother's" background, religious beliefs, social network etc?
Many cases are thrown out of court because of "mental health issues" ... surely her background should be thoroughly examined, even her childhood, her parents, schooling etc ... if they are going to buy the "diagnosis of mental health problems" ... that is very broad!

The Bible addresses demons and killing in several ways, but never presents demonic possession as a legal excuse for a human who kills another person. Here's what it does say:

Direct statements about Satan/demons and murder:
  • John 8:44 — Jesus calls Satan "a murderer from the beginning."
  • John 10:10 — "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy."
  • 1 John 3:12 — Cain, "who was of the evil one," killed his brother.
  • Hebrews 2:14 — Christ destroys "the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil."
Demons directly causing death (not through a human agent):
  • Job 1:13–19 — Satan kills Job's ten children and his servants.
  • Mark 5:13 — Demons enter the swine, which rush to their deaths.
  • Revelation 9:14–18 — Demonic forces "kill a third of mankind" (eschatological).
Demons inciting or enabling violence against others:
  • 1 Samuel 18:10–11; 19:9–10 — An evil spirit from the LORD troubles Saul, who repeatedly tries to kill David.
  • Luke 22:3 — Satan enters Judas, leading to the betrayal that results in Jesus' death.
  • 1 Kings 22:19–23 — A lying spirit incites Ahab to his death.
Demons causing self-harm (not murder of others):
  • Mark 5:5 — The Gerasene demoniac "gashing himself with stones."
  • Mark 9:17–18 — A boy "often cast him into the fire and into the water to destroy him."
The critical gap: There is no biblical case where a demon-possessed person who kills another human is granted legal immunity or a reduced sentence. The Mosaic framework (Exodus 21:12–13; Numbers 35) only distinguishes willful from unintentional killing — there is no "demonic compulsion" category. Saul, though troubled by an evil spirit, is still held to account for his actions (1 Samuel 24, 26 — David refuses to kill him, but Saul's fate is still judged as divine punishment for his own choices).

The Bible portrays demons as agents of death and violence, but it does not provide a precedent for "the demon made me do it" as a defense in a kill.

The Bible doesn’t state “none of these women who have performed abortions will ever be able to be impartial.” However, Scripture does reveal what occurs when a nation continues to murder innocent bloodshed and declares it as righteous.
God accused Israel of murdering their sons and daughters: “They have made this place full of the blood of innocents” (Jeremiah 19:4). He proclaimed they have “slain my children” (Ezekiel 16:20–21). This is how God feels about child killings.

Romans 1 describes what takes place when mankind refuses God’s truth. “Calling themselves wise, they became fools,” and God turned them over to a depraved mind (Romans 1:22, 28). Isaiah declared, “Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil!” (Isaiah 5:20).

A nation will not stop at murdering their children. When society teaches itself that the murdering is acceptable, then their sense of morality is clouded. The Bible says there are those who have “their conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2). The blood of innocents no longer horrifies them because they have been conditioned to excuse it.

we are seeing Bible prophecy come alive before our very eyes ..paul wrote the mystery of iniquity . he seen it in his time and its increasing more . if you listen to everyone nobody is saying this world will get better. she is on a dead in course to be burnt with fire,, after the church is out of here.. God will send strong delusions that they will belive a lie and be damned . the spirit of the antichrist is alive moving . not to sure he aint alive just not know who he is
That is a good point. The mystery of iniquity was already at work in Paul’s day, and we can surely see evil becoming more open and being defended as good today.Paul said, “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work” (2 Thessalonians 2:7). The spirit of antichrist is already at work in the world, just as John said in 1 John 4:3. We may not know who the final man of sin is or when he will be revealed, but we can see the direction of a world that rejects God and calls evil good.

I agree with the main idea. An individual’s background, family life, medical history, beliefs, and treatment all need to be taken into consideration if mental illness is claimed. All of those factors could potentially play a role in why a person committed such heinous crimes. However, they do not excuse what that person knowingly and willfully did.

The Bible tells us Satan is “a murderer from the beginning.” (John 8: 44) Cain was “of that wicked one when he slew his brother Abel.” (1 John 3:12) But God confronted Cain directly and held him accountable for his own actions: “What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’ s blood crieth unto me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10)

The devil can tempt us, deceive us, and destroy us, but we are still accountable to God for our own sin. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18: 20) That is why we need to guard against allowing a wide mental-health brush stroke to justify the cold-blooded murder of innocent people.

Still taking over the news, and it is sickening. I don't know how we got to this point in our society. We allow people to spend more time defending why these children were killed then mourning for the children that were killed. There is no shame in mental illness or any extreme emotions that a person may be going through. We should try to help that person. But at what point do we stop and call good evil.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil." Isaiah 5:20

This is what I take issue with. Our society has become so afraid to state that killing innocent children is wrong. That in itself is completely insane. Father in heaven, please protect children for us. "They changed the truth of God into a lie" Romans 1: 25 "And God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient." Romans 1:28

We should have sympathy for those that are going through mental illness. But what about the sympathy for the children that were murdered? We should not overlook the innocent lives that were taken because someone else has your sympathy. God decides what is right and what is wrong not society or T.V. personalities.

Hello David;

As much as I love my country, our justice system is in disarray. This is no different than the ongoing issues in our home community around the Bay Area. It's lawyers seemingly specialize and play the "legal technicalities card" such as the case with Clancy, and hundreds of cases more.

Let me give an extreme example. I'm a man of God and lets say we had 3 children. I murder my children but "devise a scheme" at the advice and work of my defense lawyer, finding a way out of the highest charge to a much lesser charge.

In the case of Clancy to sit there and keep her mouth shut at the instruction of her lawyer while seeking to arrive at a lesser sentence, Sidney Clancy brings to mind the book of Ezekiel;

Ezekiel 16:20-21, 20 And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter 21 that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them? - ESV

I go to my Bible and nowhere does God give consolations of mental breakdown, long list of medical drugs, lacking coherence, etc..as a counter for my murderous act. God also empowers troubling parents with physical and mental crisis to seek the best form of help. God anoints doctors and professionals help for those with extreme physical and mental problems, in AMERICA!

What we do with that empowerment or opportunity is up to the individual or ourselves. This is why we are encouraged to study the Bible for knowledge and wisdom in all circumstances.

The women with the pink shirts outside protesting, where were they in Clancy's time of extreme need and help? Point is, where was their public announcement of prayer for the murder of her children and for her? the ulterior, American rights as they displayed does not trump God's Word.

The Clancy trial, mistrial, and system of the jury is all a delay from just and accountability for God's children.

When God entrusts parents to be stewards of His Children. We can find this throughout His Word.

Psalm 127:3, 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. - ESV

David, I'm angry at our country. Clancy is just one reason. Of course, God's got this and still remains in complete control. When we look at the history of time God's Hand was in it and in complete control. He also revealed when it was time for His wrath.

So what can we do? For starters, pray God will reveal His just in the new Clancy trial that hopefully will start September 29. We can do our part in this country and on all four corners of the Earth. Stand firm and not be moved in times of social breakdown, pray for our leaders, remained called by anchoring our hope in Christ, loving our neighbors and enemies, serve in peace rather than emotional panic.

Let's join the great missionary "Paul to Timothy" in 1 Timothy 2:7-10, 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. - NIV

As much as everything we see daily as being "out of whack," let's remember God always sees everything and is in complete control today and the future outcome.

God bless everyone.

I think your right. That's what I've been trying to say. I sat through the whole trial and felt as though she knew what she was doing and was trying to get away with it. Of course there are mental illnesses and people can suffer from many things but she took 3 little children lives. There should be no excuses for that. Its sad that those children are being left out of this situation and everyone is feeling sorry for the one who took their lives.

Proverbs 17: 15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

I will pray for her repentance and to accept Christ but I don't think showing compassion means we shouldn't face the consequences of our actions. We need to stand by Gods word and not allow others to dictate what is right and wrong.

Is it not bad enough already, that male president's do not have "hormonal shifts" ... it does not take much to see what is actually happening to God's creation ... the war must End! However, I believe that things will ramp up even more, and the Best is Yet to Come!

Bob,

Could this be what you meant in your third paragraph?

Theological arguments against praying for the dead often rely on passages emphasizing the finality of judgment after death, such as Hebrews 9:27 ("man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment") and Luke 16:19–31 (the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, which depicts a fixed chasm in the afterlife). Additionally, some traditions argue that since the dead are "asleep" (as suggested by Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 1 Corinthians 15), they cannot receive or benefit from prayers.

In contrast, Catholic and Orthodox traditions point to 2 Maccabees 12:43–45 (accepted as canonical in these traditions but considered apocryphal/deuterocanonical by Protestants) as explicit biblical support for praying for the dead, stating it is a "holy and wholesome thought" to do so.

Hello Yesua888;

Are you referring to “We can't pray for the murdered children but we can ask God to embrace them as an expression of our love, grief, and trust in His ultimate mercy.”

I’ll follow up tomorrow.

God bless you and thank you, sister.

Yes, "we can't pray for the murdered children (the dead) ..." perhaps we can explore this further

I feel like this could be a Bible study on its own. We just have to be mindful of not going past what the word says. There is nothing that I can find in scripture that would lead me to believe that we should pray for those that have passed. "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" Heb 9:27. There is a great gulf fixed after death Luke 16:26.

We can cry for those children and talk about them with sadness. Of course we can. We can pray for those that have lost loved ones. We can pray for justice and that those that are alive will repent and that God will bring them to the truth through this horrible event.

We just can't pray for those that have passed away to be changed before the face of God. Which is why I would be hesitant to say pray that God would "embrace" them. I know where my heart is but I want to make sure I'm staying true to what God has told us in his word.

Something to study more on I believe.

I also believe that children who die before they are capable of understanding and being morally accountable before God are safe with Him. Scripture does not give us a specific ‘age of accountability,’ but David said of his deceased infant, ‘I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me’ (2 Samuel 12:23), and Jesus said of little children, ‘of such is the kingdom of heaven’ (Matthew 19:14).

Hello everyone;

I officiate funerals and get this question a lot especially with those who are Catholic, Episcopalian or Anglican. They believe in praying for the departed or dead during funeral rites, unfortunately going past what the Word says.

We are encouraged to pray for the families who mourn the loss of their loved ones. But the Bible does not teach that Jesus gave instructions or examples to pray for the salvation or change condition of those who have passed away.

God bless everyone.

I agree, Bob. Scripture gives us plenty of reason to pray for the family and those who are grieving, but I cannot find anywhere that we are told to pray for someone after they have died or that their condition can somehow be changed afterward.

Hebrews 9:27 seems pretty plain: “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” That is why I think we have to be careful not to go beyond what God has actually said.
