Hello, my name is Michael. I am a (Judaeo / Judaic) which means that I keep the moral commands of God and the commanded Sabbath Day.

Revelation 1:19-20.
“Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later. The mystery of the Seven Stars that you saw in my right hand and of the Seven Golden Lampsticks is this: The Seven Stars are the messengers of the Seven Congregations, and the Seven Lampsticks are the Seven Congregations.

Truth is made known by reason of the facts.

Just so you understand how discussions work here, the standard is Scripture itself, not a particular religious label. People come from many backgrounds, but what matters here is whether a belief can be clearly supported by the Word of God in its context.

You mentioned keeping the moral commands of God and the Sabbath. Scripture certainly teaches that God’s commands are good. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” ~John 14:15. At the same time, the New Testament also makes clear that righteousness does not come from keeping the law. “By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight” ~Romans 3:20. Our standing before God comes through Christ, not through our ability to keep commandments.

You quoted Revelation 1:19-20. In that passage Christ explains the symbolism John saw. “The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches” ~Revelation 1:20. The point of the passage is that Christ walks among His churches and holds their messengers in His hand. He sees them, examines them, and speaks to them.

You also said that truth is known by the facts. Scripture agrees in the sense that truth is not built on speculation. Jesus prayed to the Father, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” ~John 17:17.

So that is the approach here. When we discuss doctrine, we go back to what is written and examine it carefully in context. If something is true, it will stand on the testimony of Scripture.

Good morning, Michael;

God bless you and your entire family. My wife Hazel and I reside and are retired in the SF Bay Area, however I still serve in ministry.

As a man of God and years of studying His Word, I believe a disciple (talmid) in time applies a practice of common sense often defined in the Bible as wisdom, discretion, prudence, all fit within God's teachings and serve as practical application of God's Truth to daily life.

The more I strive in obedience to God allows me to do a self check daily, especially when I make mistakes or recognize my sin. This includes spiritual judgement (wisdom and discernment,) living responsibly (being accountable,) avoiding foolishness (guarding my heart and tongue) and a desire to be a salt and light to others (my disposition.)

I'm not ashamed of Jesus, therefore, He guides me in sharing the Gospel.

Easier said than done because there are hurdles daily. This week I had issues with the California Department of Housing, the San Mateo County property tax division and a failed order and replacement service by Amazon. For each one I had to guard my tongue and listen carefully. Knowing that the Lord carried me and my conduct kept me in check. For that I'm thankful to Him.

Thank you, Michael, for allowing me to share my testimony in your introduction.

Quote Forum: "Opinion, tradition, and personal experience are never treated as equal to Scripture."
I see opinion and tradition overrides actual scriptures at this forum.

Hello Michael;

I also received your post as a rash opinion and could also be read as your tradition overriding Scripture. Both our posts could be viewed as a bleak attitude and very quick to dismiss.

I believe from the
quote forum this was already explained to you. If you don't agree, then that's entirely up to you.

Speaking for myself, I took the time to read deeper the statement of faith and forum rules which is supported by Scripture, exegesis and hermeneutics. God also filled me with the spirit to
read (listen) within His site and receive what He is saying to me before I offer any dialogue to the fellowship.

I know you are a member at judaicchristianforum.forumotion.com I personally visited the site and quietly reviewed and left it at that.

I'm encouraging you to do the same and get to know
Biblical Truth Forum and with constructive dialogue my prayer is we all arrive at a common ground. I don't feel I have to spell that out for you.

If you decide the statement of faith and doctrine does not align with your convictions, you are welcome to fellowship here or whatever you decide.

Don't be so quick to react, and please think about what I'm saying,
brother.

God bless you, Michael.

Before making accusations like that, you need to actually show where it is happening.

You quoted the forum statement: “Opinion, tradition, and personal experience are never treated as equal to Scripture.” If you believe that rule is being violated here, then point to the specific post and the specific Scripture that was supposedly overridden. Right now you have made a claim without evidence.

Scripture warns against that kind of careless accusation. “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him” ~Proverbs 18:13. And again, “He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him” ~Proverbs 18:17.

So if you are going to claim that opinion and tradition are overriding Scripture here, then show the actual example and the verses involved. Otherwise it is just an unsupported accusation.
