Hi All.

I am Gustavo Cordoba, a retired Systems Engineer born in 1959, who worked in the Oil & Gas area for more than 30 years.

I came to Christ at a very early age after watching the film Jesus (Zefirelli's version) despite living in a compromised family (mother involved in sorcery and witchcraft and an atheist-leftift indoctrinated father from Nicaragua involved in guerriglia.

I always wanted to study the Bible and started to do after retirement as my work duties were really demanding.

So, here I am.

Welcome to BTF.

You have come out of a background with a lot of spiritual confusion around you, but God is able to bring a man through all of that and put a hunger for His Word in his heart.

Now that you are retired and have time to study Scripture more deeply, use that time well. The Bible is not just information for the mind; it is truth that searches the heart and points us to Christ.

Jesus said, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” ~John 17:17.

That is what we try to hold to here. Scripture is the final authority. Not tradition, not experience, not personal opinion, and not religious background. Everything must bow to the Word of God.

Glad to have you here. Jump into the discussions, ask questions, and keep it rooted in Scripture.

The Bible is not on trial. Man is. Jesus said, “the scripture cannot be broken” ~John 10:35. God’s Word does not bow before modern skepticism. It exposes the heart and stands forever. The question is not whether Scripture will stand. It will. The question is whether we will stand with it.
When God warns you, don’t brush it off. Answer Him while you still can, because a hardened heart doesn’t stay neutral, it moves toward judgment. Scripture is clear: “Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts” ~Hebrews 3:15, and again, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” ~Proverbs 29:1.
We must be careful not to cater to people's carnal desires, but rather point them to God.
