Good morning, BTF family;
My wife and I had planned since summer to take a trip to Skopje, North Macedonia in March, April, May 2026. We discussed this a couple of nights ago and both agreed to put this on hold for another time.
We were going to rent an airbnb near the waterfront. We have good friends who live there and planned Bible studies, attend an English speaking Christian Church, share the Gospel by the waterfront and travel by bus tour to surrounding countries.
2025 was a good year for traveling. We went to Skopje, North Macedonia and Thessaloniki, Greece back in April for Hazel's birthday, then in July we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on a cruise to Korea and Japan. In between we were in San Diego, CA.
In my prayers I invited God to join us 3 months away from the USA. But we felt God was prompting us to remain at home. I can't explain it because I'm not a prophet with divine forecasting. It was a deep feeling, or "gut feeling" and we both felt a sense of peace when discussing and deciding.
Proverbs 4:7, 7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. - ESV
2 Timothy 1:7, 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - KJV
There are other instances when we need to ask God for guidance. It seems in the Old and New Testaments we read a vision or message and how they would come so easy.
But Elijah ran away from Jezebel. Jonah ran from God and hid on a ship, and Paul got discouraged in Corinth. All had a vision but didn't know where it would lead them. But God would make it plain to His servants, patiently.
It takes practice to get discernment from God. Our daily relationship, prayer and intimacy with Him will get us there. Nevertheless, He knows what He's doing and will carry us to completion, in everything.
Your prayers and thoughts to my request will be appreciated and beneficial for all of us.
God bless everyone and Merry Christmas.
Bob
