HAIKU 4 U?

On a previous Christian Forum, we used to play a cute little game, where Jesus was the focus.

This game of "poetry" is called Haiku, and has a Japanese heritage ...

Haiku, is an unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively

The intension is to make up a kind of poem, involving The Lord or something that is related perhaps : )

Eg. start off like this:

Praise be to Jesus (5)
He is Steadfast and all Truth (7)
Blessed are we all (5)

then the next person responds, like this:

Blessed are we all (5)
To have Our Saviour Jesus (7)
Save us for Ever (5)

Starting off with the last 5 syllables that the previous person sent, only makes it more "challenging" or "limiting"?
However there are no hard and fast rules, and we should rather have fun with this : )

When this catches on, it becomes quite amazing, and it is as if HS is talking through us : )

For those who, like myself battled with syllables, this might be helpful:

"Praise" (a quick short word), as is "are", "we", and "all" = 1 syllable each
"To" = 1
"have" = 1
"Our" = 1
"Saviour" = 2 (Sav iour or Sav or)
"Jesus" = 2 (Je sus or Jes us)

Hope it does take off ...
