In the last week a childhood friend who I played Little League in San Diego died last Friday. We lost touch as adults but he went on to have a successful career as a football director in Oakland, CA. He was shot last Thursday and died Friday. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and grandchildren.

I don't know if he knew Christ. I hope, and will learn more.

A close friend of mine from Wisconsin, a pastor who I knew for 15 years was admitted to the hospital this month. He was diagnosed with pneumonia only to discover he had leukemia. He passed late last Friday evening. He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.

The pastor was a seasoned man of God and am at peace knowing he's with the Lord.

Please join me in prayer for both their families.

God bless everyone and thank you.

I prayed with you about this. I asked the Lord to comfort both families and to bring His peace into their lives. For your pastor friend, we can rest in the promise that he is with the Lord ~2 Corinthians 5:8. For your childhood friend, we place his family and every unknown detail in God’s hands, trusting that the Judge of all the earth does what is right ~Genesis 18:25. I’m standing with you, asking God to steady every heart and draw each family to Him during this time.

When God warns you, don’t brush it off. Answer Him while you still can, because a hardened heart doesn’t stay neutral, it moves toward judgment. Scripture is clear: “Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts” ~Hebrews 3:15, and again, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” ~Proverbs 29:1.
We must be careful not to cater to people's carnal desires, but rather point them to God.
Our danger is to water down God’s word to suit ourselves. God never fits His word to suit me; He fits me to suit His word.
~ Oswald Chambers
