Below is the link to Senator Bernie Sanders latest video “LIVE: The Existential Threat of AI and the Need for International Cooperation.” Should we as Bible believers support Senator Sanders in his goal of slowing down AI development towards a godlike super-intelligence that would likely replace the human species, and support the goal of limiting AI and robotics to a narrow path of serving all of humanity safely not just a few billionaires?

Hello william77;

No, we don't support Mr. Sanders since his early congressional career back in the 1970s. He has long been vocal and an advocate for abortion, and later evolved more into same sex marriage. To this day Mr. Sanders is still very open proclaiming his support in these two areas. For these reasons we haven't given ears to hear regarding this gentleman.

As far as I remember when the progress of televisions, telephones, computers in the early 1970s on, cell phones, online interaction on the "world wide public," etc...the same public pessimism (or same threats regarding AI) was voiced for each progression. Later there was calm when they all settled in society, business and domestic stages.

Today generated AI since the 2020s is receiving the same positive / negative reaction from the community and across the country, or overseas.

Based on our personal age and unqualified as experts in all areas of electronics and technology, we gradually learned to ask what God says, first, and how can we attain wisdom, knowledge and be that salt and light in receiving these changes.

1 Peter 3:15, Ephesians 6:15, Matthew 24:44 are excellent teachings regarding change and the things to come, strive to be ready and prepared daily.

God bless you, William, and thank you for sharing.

Bob

I agree that same sex marriage is a sin; however, do Bible believers have a right to interfere through political action or through harassment or discrimination in these matters? I think not. We live in a secular society. Or job is to not engage in such conduct ourselves and teach our children to do the same. In today’s society, the people who go after homosexuals are usually guilty of a variety of sins themselves. They just don’t like the sin of homosexuality. The example we should follow is Jesus’ response to the woman caught in adultery in John 8:1-11. He who is without sin cast the first stone.

On abortion I think pretty much the same way. I also recognize that God showed His Priests how to conduct abortions in Numbers 5:11-31. Non-believing women without husbands, who have no intent of teaching their children God’s Law and Jesus Christ’s gospel, should have abortions. Especially in the case of drug and alcohol addiction that results in mentally and physically handicapped children. Many of these tortured children become disasters in our society.

Even if you see Senator Sanders as wrong on past issues, you must realize that he’s right on the AI issue. How many times in the past have you been wrong on some issue or another? Nobody is perfect, and we’re all a work in progress. Many Bible believers erred when they supported Trump for President and later discovered the disaster he is.

John 8:1-11
New International Version
8 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Numbers 5:11-31
New International Version
The Test for an Unfaithful Wife

11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him 13 so that another man has sexual relations with her, and this is hidden from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act), 14 and if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure—or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure— 15 then he is to take his wife to the priest. He must also take an offering of a tenth of an ephah[a] of barley flour on her behalf. He must not pour olive oil on it or put incense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, a reminder-offering to draw attention to wrongdoing.

16 “‘The priest shall bring her and have her stand before the Lord. 17 Then he shall take some holy water in a clay jar and put some dust from the tabernacle floor into the water. 18 After the priest has had the woman stand before the Lord, he shall loosen her hair and place in her hands the reminder-offering, the grain offering for jealousy, while he himself holds the bitter water that brings a curse. 19 Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. 20 But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— 21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”

“‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”

23 “‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. 24 He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. 25 The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord and bring it to the altar. 26 The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial[c] offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.

29 “‘This, then, is the law of jealousy when a woman goes astray and makes herself impure while married to her husband, 30 or when feelings of jealousy come over a man because he suspects his wife. The priest is to have her stand before the Lord and is to apply this entire law to her. 31 The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences of her sin.’”

AI is far worse than computers, cellphones, the internet, and television. Hopefully, you first listened to the video and are able to understand the dangers of AI technology if allowed to become superior to humans and replace humans in the job market. Nothing like this is comparable to anything humanity has ever experienced in history. This is likely what Daniel and Jesus warned about in Daniel 12:1 and Matthew 24:21-22.

And, I hope you realize that Bible believers are currently sounding the alarm about AI and mass surveillance technologies leading to the mark of the beast system described in Revelation 13. See, for example, the video below.

We should do our best to delay the AI god and mark of the beast system being developed by atheist computer scientists and engineers so that more people can be saved.

Daniel 12:1
New International Version
The End Times

12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

Matthew 24:21-22
New International Version
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
