“… as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; …” ~ Romans 3:10

There’s a moment in the book of Romans that stops you in your tracks. Chapter 3 doesn’t start with comfort, it starts with truth. It tells us something we all sense deep down but don’t always want to admit: we’re broken. Not just a little off track, but completely lost. Whether you're religious or not, the Bible says the same thing about all of us. No one is righteous. Not one. Not you, not me, not anyone.

We might try to live good lives, compare ourselves to others, or check boxes to feel better, but that doesn’t change our standing before a perfect and holy God. Romans lays it bare: our words deceive, our actions cause harm, and we live as if God doesn’t matter. The law of God wasn’t given to make us feel better, it was given to show us how serious the problem really is. It reveals sin, it doesn’t remove it. And that means no one will be declared right before God by trying to follow rules or be good enough.

But that’s not the end.

Right in the middle of this hard truth comes the good news. “But now…” Those two words turn everything around. God stepped in. He made a way for people to be made right with Him, not by what we do, but by what Jesus Christ has done. Jesus lived a sinless life, took the punishment for our sin, and rose again to offer forgiveness and eternal life. And we can receive that, not by effort, but by faith.

Salvation isn’t something we earn. It’s a gift. It’s offered to everyone who believes, whether they grew up with the Bible or never heard it before. Romans says all have sinned, but it also says we’re justified freely by God’s grace through Jesus. That means we’re declared right in God’s eyes because of Him, not because of us.

This truth strips away pride. No one can boast. No one can say they got to God on their own. It’s all Him. And that’s the beauty of the message, no matter who you are or what your background is, the door is open. Through Jesus, we’re not only forgiven, we’re changed.

And just to be clear, trusting Christ doesn’t mean we throw out God’s commands. It means we finally start to understand them. The law points us to our need for a Savior, and once we’ve come to Him, we begin to live in a way that reflects His righteousness, not to earn anything, but because we’ve already been given everything.

Romans 3 is heavy, but it leads to hope. It tells the truth about sin, and it points straight to the only solution: Jesus Christ. If you’ve ever wondered where you stand with God, this chapter gives you the answer, and shows you the way home.

The Bible is not on trial. Man is. Jesus said, “the scripture cannot be broken” ~John 10:35. God’s Word does not bow before modern skepticism. It exposes the heart and stands forever. The question is not whether Scripture will stand. It will. The question is whether we will stand with it.
When God warns you, don’t brush it off. Answer Him while you still can, because a hardened heart doesn’t stay neutral, it moves toward judgment. Scripture is clear: “Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts” ~Hebrews 3:15, and again, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” ~Proverbs 29:1.
