We Will Not Be Silenced

We live in a time where speaking the truth of Jesus Christ is no longer tolerated by many. People are told to keep their faith private, to stay silent about sin, and to avoid sharing anything that might offend someone’s personal beliefs. But when the World Says Be Quiet, we must Speak Louder. God's Word does not change to fit culture, politics, or pressure. The name of Jesus is still the only name that saves, and no amount of threats or intimidation should silence that truth.

Acts 4:12 declares it plainly, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” That truth offended people in the first century, and it offends people now. But it remains true, because it was spoken by the authority of God, not man.

When Peter and John were ordered not to speak or teach in Jesus’ name, their response wasn’t fear, compromise, or retreat. They said, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:19–20). That’s the kind of boldness we need today. Not arrogance, not aggression, but fearless obedience to God no matter what man says.

After they were released, the early believers didn’t pray for safety or popularity. They prayed for boldness. They asked God to give them courage to keep proclaiming His Word, even as the threats increased. And God answered. The place was shaken, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking the Word with boldness (Acts 4:31).

That’s the model for us. We don’t change the message to make it more acceptable. We don’t water it down so we can fit in. We don’t stop speaking just because it’s dangerous or unpopular. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16), and Jesus said, “Whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed” (Luke 9:26).

So when the world tells us to shut up about Jesus, our answer is simple, we cannot. He is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other name that saves. And because we love Him, and we love the people who are perishing without Him, we will keep proclaiming the truth, loudly, clearly, and boldly, until He returns.
