Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” ~ John 8:12
In Boulder, Colorado, on June 1, 2025 a horrifying act of violence shook a peaceful demonstration meant to bring awareness to hostages held by Hamas. The attacker came disguised in an orange vest with flowers in hand, only to unleash firebombs on innocent people. Among the injured was an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor. This wasn't a random outburst, it was a premeditated assault filled with hate. Eighteen Molotov cocktails, months of planning, and a heart fueled by darkness.
This isn’t just a tragedy in a Colorado park, it is a glimpse into the true condition of our world. We are watching the fruit of sin, hatred, rage, deception, and destruction. No law, no protest, no political party will ever be able to fix it. You can ban weapons, but you can’t ban what lives in the human heart. Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” The problem isn’t just what people do, it’s what they are without Christ.
What happened in Boulder is a symptom. The disease is sin, and the cure is not tolerance, therapy, or social reform. It is Jesus Christ. The same Jesus who said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). The only way out of this spiral of chaos is to turn to the Light. Without Him, mankind will keep spiraling into deeper hatred, more violence, and eternal judgment.
The Bible says, “The way of peace have they not known, there is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:17–18). When you remove the fear of God, you open the floodgates of evil. But the answer isn’t to curse the darkness, it’s to shine the Light. Jesus didn’t come to create a religion, He came to save sinners. He came to destroy the works of the devil, including the sin in your life and mine. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). That includes terrorists, that includes protesters, that includes you.
If you are reading this, there is still time to repent and believe the gospel. Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. He took the wrath of God so you wouldn’t have to face it. But if you reject Him, the Bible is clear, “He that believeth not is condemned already” (John 3:18).
Look around. The world is on fire, literally and spiritually. But there is One who walked through the fire, bore your sin, and conquered the grave. His name is Jesus. You don’t need more religion, you need a new heart, and only the One who created it can give it. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The clock is ticking. Don’t wait until it’s your street, your family, or your soul in the flames. Come to Christ today. He is the only answer, and He’s the answer everyone will face in the end.
