Hi everyone, have you heard of dual creation model? That there are 2 separate creation accounts of mankind. What are your thoughts on this subject? I'm sharing Tim Snider's FB post -
DAY 26 (5 minutes)
Mankind vs THE Adam (Scriptural Comparison of Chapter 1 and 2)
· Mankind in Chapter 1:26 was created in PLURAL form according to Hardam, the noun form used in the text from which the word "them", that is “male and female” were created...AT THE SAME TIME.
· Adam in Chapter 2:7 was created ALONE while Eve came AFTER Adam was placed in the garden in 2:21-23.
· Mankind was created on Day 6 in Genesis 1:26-27, AFTER God had already created edible vegetation AND fruit trees on Day 3.
· Adam was created in Chapter 2:7 at some point during or AFTER Day 6 of creation but BEFORE edible vegetation (other than fruit trees) in 2:9.
· Mankind 1:26, 29,30 was given dominion over ALL living things… vegetation, fowl, fishes, animal and insects… He did NOT have to work to eat!
· Adam in Chapter 2:15-16 was NOT given dominion over anything until God placed him in the Garden of Eden to WORK and cultivate it so that he COULD eat.
· Mankind in Chapter 1:27 were created generically as a unit and were ‘spoken’ into existence. Male and female he created “them.” (Again, Hardam in Hebrew as a plural unit). No personal names, no garden, no specific location mentioned. Just a sweeping declaration that humankind was made in God's image to steward creation.
· Adam THE Man, in Chapter 2:7 was a special creation formed from soil with God’s own hands… The Lord God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life…And the man became a living being.
· Mankind (male and female) and the animal world in the general land mass of the region in Chapter 1:28 were told to procreate after their kind…They were to “replenish” or repopulate the earth beginning IMMEDIATELY!
· Adam in Chapter 2 was placed ALONE in the Garden of Eden in 2:15 with no such command to replenish the earth immediately, because Eve had not yet been created.
· Mankind had free access and dominion over the animal and plant world that were populating the “earth” (the general land mass of the region) AND the known “SEA” in 1:28.
· To Adam in Chapter 2:19-20 were brought all the “living things” for him to name and have control over in a very specific plot of ground where there was NO sea…THE GARDEN. (God created these living things SPECIFICALLY for the Garden of Eden!)
· Mankind in Chapter 1:29-30 had to do NOTHING in order to survive!
· Adam, The ‘man’ was a worker from the get-go (2:5, 8 and 15)…even had to have Divine surgery to get the help he needed! (verse 21)
· Mankind (Hebrew adam) in Chapter 1 is a generic, PLURAL pronoun denoting both male and female designated by the word “them” in verses 26-28.
· The word Adam in Chapter 2 is a SINGULAR noun and was CAPITALIZED beginning in verse 19 and subsequent verses by the King James scholars to show the uniqueness of this particular man!
· Mankind in Chapter 1:26 was created by the SPOKEN word of God…There was no mention of “dust” or of personal handling.
· Adam in Chapter 2 and verse 7 was formed by God’s own hands from the “dust of the earth.”
· In Chapter 1:26-27 God creates mankind in a general, non-specific location (NOT in a garden) and He doesn’t name them.
· In Chapter 2:19, God names the man Adam and places him in a garden that He specifically created for him, and in that garden He creates THE woman from one of Adam’s ribs and NAMES her EVE in 2:21-23.
· In Chapter 1 there’s NO mention of God communing with mankind except to command THEM to “be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth”…and have "dominion" over it and everything He had created up through that time (verses 26-30).
· In Chapters 2 and 3 God personally walks and talks with Adam AND Eve.
· In Chapter 1 God creates the animal species and gives mankind dominion or power over them but doesn’t designate them by name.
· In Chapter 2 God brings the entire animal species to Adam and he names every one of them. (What a monumental task that much have been and what a creative mind Adam must have had to accomplish that task!)
But remember, he was created with superhuman intelligence…a little lower than the angels! (Hebrews 2:6-8)
I KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS... SO PLEASE READ AND COMPARE THESE VERSES IN YOUR OWN BIBLE...DON’T JUST TAKE MY WORD OR THE WORDS OF ANY TEACHER!
