The original post claimed that Christ was adopted by the Father and became God’s Son at a point in time.
That teaching contradicts Scripture.
John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Son did not begin in Bethlehem. He existed in the beginning.
John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” The eternal Word became flesh. He did not become the Son at His baptism or resurrection.
Micah 5:2 says of the Messiah, “whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” The Son’s origin is eternal, not adopted in time.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” He is not a created or adopted Son. He is the eternal Son.
Psalm 2:7 and Acts 13:33 speak of declaration and fulfillment, not adoption. The resurrection publicly declared what was already true, as Romans 1:4 says, “declared to be the Son of God with power.”
