Fault? In my view,no one's. God created male human offspring to have foreskin for a reason. Just as God created female offspring with a Labia. We don't circumcise baby females.

Are 7 days of creation literal?

I don't think so. I think days,as man understands it,are used to allow us to register the story of creation in a way relative to what we already know as true. A day is 24 hours. While, time is man's invention. Not eternal God's.
